The Waldport Library Foundation participated in two local craft fairs to sell Folded Book Holiday Art pieces. Folded book art is a form of origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, where you take a piece of paper and fold it into various shapes creating birds, animals, or in this case, holiday motifs.

Holiday craft fairs that featured the Folded Book Holiday Art pieces in the Waldport area included Bayshore Artisans’ Christmas Bazaar & Bake Sale on December 3 rd and Crestview Heights Elementary School on December 10, 2022. Over $400 was raised through these efforts. The Waldport Library Foundation meets monthly at the Waldport Public Library to explore the needs of finding a larger home for the Waldport Public Library as its programs and book collection need more space to better meet the needs of the community. Their goal is to “raise the funds to build a new library.”
